Weighted Scoring Models (WSM)

Before beginning work on this interactive assignment, complete the lab for this week. Next, review the Chapter 2 discussion on weighted scoring models. Weighted scoring models (WSMs) provide a decision-making method where a set of criteria is weighted in importance to its relevance in the decision making process. Attach the WSM you created to your initial post as an Excel sheet (.xls). In your initial post, explain the results of the weighted scoring model and the decisions that would be made if the weighted scoring model was the only decision method used.

Explain how your choice aligns with your short- and long-term career objectives. If the results do not align with your career objectives, describe the adjustments to the criteria that would need to be made to the model. Based on the WSM results, identify at least two things you will need to do in order to accomplish your career goals. Then, extrapolate from your experience with this assignment and explain how WSMs could be useful for selecting projects in an organizational environment. Your initial post should be a minimum of 250 words. You are encouraged to post your required replies early during the week to promote more meaningful and interactive discourse in this discussion.
