2.What is euthanasia, and why is it considered to be morally different to murder or suicide? Is it?
Euthanasia refers to the benefit or goodness involved in another’s mortality. The difference between murder and this concept is the underlying reason that one is sought. Euthanasia is justified by its intention to bring death because death, in this case, is ultimately more beneficial than living. On the other hand, murder can refer to both and serves to reference a more general case of death. Therefore, murder and euthanasia are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
Euthanasia, however, can be divided into three categories: voluntary, involuntary, and non-voluntary in which they are divided according to whether consent is provided or present. Voluntary euthanasia involves the consent of the killed while involuntary is more akin to murder where the one being killed does not want to be involved.
